Despite there being a couple of spreads left in this sketchbook I’ve decided to retire it. It’s served me well and as I’m leaving for the holidays tomorrow, it feels like leaving it as is and beginning my next sketchbook in the new year just makes sense.

I’ve had many sketchbooks over the years and I’ve come to accept that they are finished when I decide. Weather I just don’t like the sketchbook or it just has too many pages like this one, forcing myself to finish a sketchbook will only create negative feelings towards my art and my sketchbooks. The sketchbook is amazing and I adore it, tho since I’m so used to sketching A5 moving on to a much bigger sketchbook made getting through it much more tiring. I find the size and shape more complementary to how I work so my next one is a similar size but with half the pages so hopefully I will be able to avoid the art drain.

Here is a sketchbook I finished from 1 Jan 2024 to 18/19 April 2024! I am so proud of how far I've come! Thank you to all who have been with me in this journey as I continue on! Here is a selection of ones I liked the most, excluding the very first, as it was my goals I set for myself this year. Enjoy these images as much as I do!

Since I started the whole posting sketchbook spreads thing in the middle of Sketchbook 29, not all of the spreads are up! Does anyone want to see them? Or even some of my older sketchbooks? I mean, there’s at least 28 more (if I haven’t misplaced them lol) so there’s a lot of old material that hasn’t seen the light of day. I wouldn’t be going back all the way since these books reach back into my single digit ages, but I wouldn’t mind the challenge of showing off some and redrawing it! And none of those “moral” worries about me showing off something I don’t want seen. I’ll be skipping spreads that are too personal or that I just don’t think I want to share. I draw for me, and posting my sketchbook doesn’t change that. I just open up the question because I don’t care either way! I think it’s fun to have people look at something I spent a lot of time creating.
